Microsoft Surface Hub V1 84-Inch 4K Interactive Display

Microsoft Surface Hub V1 84-Inch: Overview

The Microsoft Surface Hub V1 84-Inch is Microsoft’s 84-inch Surface Hub, a giant touchscreen that combines a whiteboard, a video-conferencing screen and a Windows computer in one device. It was designed for meeting rooms, classrooms and boardrooms.

Features and Benefits

The Surface Hub lets teams write on the screen with a pen, share ideas on a digital whiteboard, join video calls and present from laptops and phones, all on one big display. The 84-inch model has a 4K (3840 x 2160) display with a 120 Hz refresh rate, a 4th Gen Intel Core i7 processor and NVIDIA Quadro graphics. It runs Windows 10 and works with Microsoft apps such as Skype for Business, Office and OneNote, so notes and drawings can be saved and emailed to participants. The screen supports multi-touch with multiple pens at the same time, which makes group brainstorming natural. It is a premium collaboration tool for organisations that want more engaging, productive meetings.

Using and Caring for It

Mount the Hub on a wall bracket or a rolling stand in a room with good Wi-Fi or a network cable, since it relies on the network for calls and cloud apps. Keep the screen clean with a soft, dry microfibre cloth and use a surge protector. Ask a qualified installer to mount a screen of this weight, and give staff a short training session so they get the most out of it.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is it a computer as well as a screen?
Yes. The Surface Hub has a computer built in and runs Windows 10, so you do not need to connect a separate PC.

Can several people write on it at once?
Yes. It supports multi-touch and multiple pens at once, so a group can work on the screen together.

Is this the current model?
No. This is the first-generation Surface Hub (V1), launched in 2015, so it is now a pre-owned or older-generation product. Ask Vsonic about its condition and warranty.
