Sonik 16W UltraViolet Insect Killer

Sonik 16W UltraViolet Insect Killer: Overview

The Sonik 16W UltraViolet Insect Killer is a 16-watt ultraviolet (UV) insect killer for homes, shops and restaurants. It draws flying insects to its light and removes them, so you can reduce mosquitoes, flies and moths without sprays or coils.

Features and Benefits

Flying insects are attracted by ultraviolet light, which is why an insect killer glows with a bluish tube. The 16W unit uses that light to lure insects towards it, where they are killed by the unit, so you get fewer bites and fewer insects on food and surfaces without spraying chemicals around the family. Higher wattage means a stronger light and a larger area covered, and a 16W unit is best suited to a bedroom, a small shop or a kitchen. It runs quietly and costs little to operate compared with repeated purchases of sprays and coils.

Using and Caring for It

Hang or mount the unit at about 1.5 to 2 metres above the floor, away from competing bright lights and out of the reach of children. Keep it away from food preparation surfaces and flammable materials, unplug it before cleaning and empty the collection tray regularly following the manual. Replace the UV tube when its glow weakens, since the light fades with age even if it still switches on.
