Vsonic General Purpose Smoke Alarm (2 pcs Combo Set)

Vsonic General Purpose Smoke Alarm (2 pcs Combo Set): Overview

The Vsonic General Purpose Smoke Alarm (2 pcs Combo Set) is a general purpose smoke alarm from Vsonic that gives early warning of fire. This combo set contains 2 alarms, enough for a small flat, with one alarm in the bedroom area and one in the living room.

Features and Benefits

A smoke alarm detects smoke and sounds a loud alarm, which can wake you or alert you when a fire starts, often before you can see the flames. In Nigerian homes and workplaces, fires commonly start from electrical faults, overloaded sockets, generators, cooking and candles, and early warning gives you precious minutes to get out. A general purpose smoke alarm is meant for ordinary rooms such as bedrooms, living rooms, hallways and offices, and it is a low-cost way to make your property much safer. Buying a combo set of 2 also means every area is covered at a better price per alarm than buying one at a time.

Using and Caring for It

Fit alarms on the ceiling or high on a wall, in the centre of a room or hallway and away from kitchen cooking fumes, bathroom steam and fans. Put one in every bedroom and one in each corridor or floor, test each alarm monthly using the test button and replace batteries when the alarm chirps. Vacuum or wipe dust from the alarm regularly, and replace the alarm when the manufacturer says it has reached the end of its life.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where should I fit it?
On the ceiling or high on the wall, in bedrooms, hallways and living areas, and away from kitchens, bathrooms and fans that can cause false alarms.

How often should I test it?
Press the test button once a month and replace the battery whenever the alarm chirps to warn you it is low.

Does it replace a fire extinguisher?
No. A smoke alarm warns you of fire; it does not put it out. Keep a suitable extinguisher or fire blanket nearby and plan an escape route.
